Stand Up Republic (SUR) seeks a mid-level manager to lead the organization’s digital media strategy and operations. The position will be part of a growing communications team that includes a director, junior staff, and outside digital media vendors.
Founded in 2017 by Evan McMullin and Mindy Finn, Stand Up Republic mobilizes a cross-partisan, national network for the defense and strengthening of American democracy. Through media and grassroots campaigns, we fight for accountable government, pluralistic society, healthy media, and electoral reform. We believe that it is our shared civic duty to defend and advance the values, norms and institutions that protect our freedom no matter our political affiliation. If we allow these matters to become partisan, then we risk losing them as leaders and political tribes put their own interests above those of the nation. Stand Up Republic works to unite all Americans around these foundational elements of our democracy.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the Media Manager plans and executes external communications, digital and public relations messaging to inform, mobilize and expand SUR’s network of pro-democracy advocates. They will ensure SUR’s digital presence advances the organization’s work, promoting perspectives, events and advocacy initiatives central to the mission. The Media Manager will work closely with a senior peer group within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.
