While many people tuned into a Republican Convention marked by divisiveness, nepotism, lies, and bizarre shouting, tens of thousands of our fellow Americans tuned in to something far better: The Convention on Founding Principles. Instead of fear and anger, the CFP inspired hope and real, ethical solutions for Republicans, independents, conservatives and moderates alike. Even lifelong democrats were heartened and intrigued to hear what a principled, honorable party might sound like.
That was the point, to prove that there is still a hunger for unifying, honest politics across the ideological spectrum. The Convention on Founding Principles was a home for the politically homeless, and we were proud to organize it. But more than that, we were inspired by the countless Americans who joined the effort, tuning in each night to listen to thoughtful speeches by leaders like Michael Steele, James Comey, Christine Todd Whitman, and Michael Hayden.
The response was overwhelming, so we want to make sure everyone has a chance to see the Convention. If you weren’t able to tune in live, you can catch up any time. You can watch the full program, complete with discussions from our host Shermicahel Singleton and guest panelists Reed Howard, Brad Traywick, Mary Anna Mancuso and others. Or, watch individual speeches that pique your interest. No matter how you choose to participate in the Convention, be sure to share your favorite moments with friends and family.
There are just two months until election day in America. This is our chance to vote for principles, and change our government for the better. The Convention on Founding Principles laid the groundwork for that change, but it’s up to all of us to see it through to November and beyond.
This is our mission, to reinstill the values and principles on which our nation was founded, and towards which generations of Americans have struggled. We have not fulfilled the whole promise of America. But with patriotic Americans like you in the fight, we are confident in a brighter future for our nation.
